Doctors are only human and can be lazy just like anyone else.
If they aren't sure, they can be prone to dismissing findings because this option takes less effort than investigating fully.
Conversly, in my experience, if you keep gently pushing with reasoned argument they will generally be inclinded to 'take an interest'.
I don't mean to sound forgiving of doctors or overly critical either, it's just human nature to take the path of least resistance.
DO NOT BE FOBBED OFF with half truths and tenuous conclusions cos they can't be bothered to work it out properly.
Just to increase my own understanding....
Is it that the degree of chimerism is influenced by the stage at which the two cell lines combined? i.e. if it's early in development, there's a greater degree of mosaicism.
And does anyone know if it's possible to have more than two cell lines merge?
Also are the two cell lines always arising from invivo siblings or can it also be a merging of maternal cells with the embryo?
... sorry this is off the point, just figured one of you may know the answer in simple terms.
The only reason I was prompted to ask the right questions about my own IS condition was because I'd read an article about mosaicism. Otherwise the doctors would never have even told me I'm CAIS. And they already KNEW that... there in black and white in my notes... so if I'd had to persuade them to find out first like you're having to I'd have probably died before they could be bothered. (sorry, I'm ranting again
