Wink what can we do about getting people more ....

....active and contributing more regularly even if thats just every 3 months

i would like to see a forums page more alive with virtual human traffic(us)

and have people stop off sometimes and ask a question or two

plus how can we get more people feeling that they are not always alone or alone feeling ever

i would like to see a dramatic change in attitude
and see the next year be fuller of many types of intersex discussing many broad areas

what do you see as a future for intersex issues?

and are there any ways at all in your mind where you can find the time or bother to make a slight difference!?

what is the risk...you are covered by insurance with having anonymous names

but your thoughts can make a huge difference

dont be scared....time is sacred......

and any one small step you do could be in whole a large step for people of the world

well it might help if

I was thinking that i really wish more people would post there thoughts.

I see alot of people who are just guests, i am not sure if they are people who are curious? or people like us who are looking for answers, and not sure if they are in the right place. Or if there some of the older members just coming by for a look to see if there is a post they might want to respond too.

i know i try to give a strong impression of being helpfull. Or couragous, i do talk to alot of people, in classes, support groups. And well whenever i get the chance to run my mouth. Its not always easy though to think of the right words. I hope someone finds my words helpfull to them. I know that without the many voices here i would of continued spiralling downward to nothingness. I am usually happy, i am usually content, every now and then though i go through some depressive episodes, and its people here that help me the most. i have found many friends here, some i am missing as they know longer stop by or seldom post anymore. I do hope to meet more. So i am sort of a long timer, i have posts running back several years now, and I hope someone has found some little piece of information or helpfull bits of wisdom that has benefited them.

A certain degree of privacy (not using my legal name) allows me to speak more freely and the Internet provides a forum where I can do that.

After a rough childhood and adolescence I was able to put things right and go on with a normal life in my early 20's (well over 30 years ago).

A few of my closest friends know I was IS, though one of my close male friends just can't get his head around the concept and still thinks I was/am a transsexual.

In my 50's now, I appreciate my anonymity and would just as soon not deal with an ignorant public who are prone to conclusion jumping! So I keep my distant past and my "medical oddities" to myself.

all that anonymity that you have just displayed
is a perfect example of
how easy it is to keep things anonymous
but
equally be able to give great information at the same time
by explaining to me and others
what is obvious for intersexed peoples
.....that.....
it is not really time for any intersexed individual to be poking their noses outside into the "real world"
especially not on their own
and proclaiming to the world that
"we are intersex and we are here!"...
.because i agree that the world is still not ready for the news

thanks for your comment...and for the record-
i thought what you wrote was perfect
for
how much you do when you think you are doing or saying nothing

Hello Peaceandparty

I stay relatively anonymous. I don’t broadcast my condition but then again you and I are completely different.

If you walked up to someone, a stranger, and told them you were xxy most people would not have a clue what you were talking about and as you explain it to them they probably would not really understand still.

Now if I walked up to someone and stated that I was a hermaphrodite well now, not much explaining there. We are famous for porn stars, sexual deviants, freaks of nature, abomination of God, carnival freak shows, and my favorite “chicks with dicks”.

I can’t fight years of that crap. I need to work and I don’t want my house burnt to the ground. So I just keep that to my self and life goes on.

hmm. but this is my name

I have no or very little anomity, Kailana Sidrandi Alaniz is my name. I have no worries about people burning down my house. I do have some issues with the chuckles now and then. But honestly when i am walking through town, at school, the people who are curious usually ask if i am trans. While many assume i am a guy in a dress/skirt, or guy who wears a sports bra with t-shirt and shorts/jeans. You see, i dont really fit the standards as a transsexual as most see transexuals, i dont really do any of the normal lipstick, perfume, highheels, none of that is me. Now then i am fond of eye shadow/eye liner. Yes all of my clothes are womens, but I'll never wear a pair of high heels. Im much happier in sneakers. perhaps id wear other things if my bones werent alll messed up. or perhaps if i were younger i might actually do a little more of the make-up and all. But truthfully thats not really me.

The Screaming Banshee<---that was once my online identity, also "The Tinker Toy Boy" <--- that was a very old one i used for awhile when i wasin my early 20's, after being told i was intersexed truehermaphrodyte. I dont use any of them anymore. When i first came to BLO i used my name Rudy Andrew Alaniz<----that was my legal name from 1989-2006, before that it was Rodolfo Andrew Alaniz<-----nov 5 1970-Aug,1989, and before that when i was born, Dorothy Marie Alaniz, 10 Oct 1970-5 Nov 1970. Those are all the names that hever been associated with me.
Now i dont know if any of that really matters though. What i see as the best help i can provide is just my thoughts, a little encouraging word now and then. Providing some semblance of normalcy to people much like myself, who have many of the same experiences as me. We are really not so alone, there are alot more out there who needs us. That i am a bit more open then others might just be who i am, or the finding of myself, sort of like when someone is ashamed of what they are, and whats been done, eventually they start fighting for some sense of having the right to express themself as they see themself, and not as how others forced them to be.

I hope if nothing else, that i am at least helpfull to someone.
