Parkinson's disease

Some years ago, my grand-father noticed that his writing was getting worse than usual and his walking was becoming unstable. He went to several doctors and chiropractors who told him that the problem was with his spine/back. After repeated spinal manipulations and various medications he went to a neurologist in 2003 who informed him that he had a form of Parkinson’s disease called Parkinson’s syndrome. By this time he was having difficulty with his movements. He tried various medications but they seemed to have little or no effect on his stiffness. Finally now he is prescribed with comtan by his GP. But he is a bit reluctant to take this medication. The others were not effective. He doesn’t rely on any medication now. I wanted to have more information on this medication, comtan. Can anyone help me please??
