Try and count the 'normals'

In response to something RW posted in a different thread I thought we could adapt Sunshine's game from counting gender labels to counting the use of the word normal.
I was pretty confused by the attitude of the surgeon in part two of these youtube films...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10QDw...elated&search=

how can doctors make these kind of decisions when they clearly have no control group of people who they have not operated on. Are there people out there who are complaining that doctors gave them too much choice and should have operated on them at birth?

the doctor in that video should see this site
http://www.snapyourchap.com/

then maybe he'll realise that variety is the spice of life.

I feel very fortunate today to be CAIS.... well as far as I know.... ??????

As a life-long devotee of the sciences and having earned my living in science my whole life I am constantly appalled by the ignorance and arrogance of the medical profession. They not only THINK they know but they CLAIM they know when in fact they can only maintain their position by NOT investigating the possibility they are wrong! In any other branch of science, investigating possible alternative theories is not only encouraged but is considered ESSENTIAL!

Exactly

And surely if they have not got clear evidence that what they're doing is benefitial then they would rely more heavily on anecdotal evidence????
