BODIES LIKE OURS FOUNDERS TO APPEAR ON ABC NEWS HEALTH SPECIAL


On July 31, 2002, ABC News is a airing special on women's health and focusing on the brain. It is scheduled to air at 10pm/9pm central. One of the segments in this special health show will include the role of Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia on female brain development and behavior.

Dandara Hill and Betsy Driver of Bodies Like Ours were interviewed for the segment on Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH). In the interview, Dandara talked about growing up with CAH. Betsy Driver talked about how CAH has affected her adult life.

We haven't seen the show, so we are not sure what it will actually include beyond a discussion of Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia.

Behavior and gender theorists have recently started to study women with Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia in an effort to better understand the effect of hormones on the brain. Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia is unique because of the role the excess androgens play in the growth and personality of females with CAH. Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia is the most common cause of all intersex conditions.

Hi i think gets great they are doing a speacial on
cah my daughter is 13yrs old now ive had a few
problems with her but am getting them sorted
out.
The ABCnews speacial would be very interesting
for me to watch but because iam in the uk i will
miss it and would loved to of watched it, i think
it might of helped me with some of the problems
i have been having with her.

sorry i missed it. Do you know if it will be re-broadcast? I tried to check it out on the ABC news website, but they keep the feature stories segmented as premium content.
