I'm Published
Hi Everyone,
I haven't been around for a while - been up to a lot of mischief. Sometime soon I'm going to start writing all stuff I've been saving up. Two weeks ago I stood on a stage in a tux singing, "Santa Gave Me Prozac This Year" accompanied by my partner, Tim, on the mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Organ. He actually asked me to sing in one of his concerts. I had a blast. It was about 800-900 people so I had a fairly large house to ham it up to! I have a feature article in "Breathe" magazine coming out soon. Just for fun, but it's the first time I've been published and actually PAID FOR IT!! It's about intersex/fatherhood/being "real". A month ago I gave a presentation to a local eccumenical group of clergy and church representatives who were looking for information on intersexed people. This is a group of Protestant churches who are welcoming/affirming to GLBT people and want to understand something about intersexed people in the hopes of being good ministers to intersexed people. Most had very little introduction to intersex and their worlds had just been exploded in learning that not everyone is precisely, physically male or female. It went very well and I anticipate further opportunities to talk to faith communities. I'm gay, intersexed, and as a church musician partnered to a professional church musician I've got a lot of common ground. It never ceases to amaze me how often I find that rather than being too different to have anything in common with others, we have something in common with so many that we can be a bridge. Jim |

Congratulations!
Sounds like you've been exceptionally busy, and in a very positive sense. I do have to ask - what would you say was the most asked question you've recieved from these talks? I'd be most interested to know. While I don't have the exposure that you have, I too have also been letting people I know 'in' on my secret, more for the inevitable change that I'll need to make, than anything else. Fortunately, all of these exposures have been generally positive, although there have been a few people that had a problem until I had explained the issues better. Knowing what others have asked will only broaden my knowledge base about what info to provide. Anyway, it's good to hear some positive news, instead of the daily drone of death and destruction. Wyn

Hi Jim,
It's great to hear that you are getting paid for one of your articles. The topic of gay intersex fatherhood is interesting, and perhaps you can provide us with an online link to the article once it appears. I will be doing a workshop for the UUC (Unitarinian Universalist Church) in February, and as I am always impressed with your positive outlook on life, I am wondering if you have any written materials that you have prepared for chuch events on intersex issues.
