Arrow need some information on this please...

Hello everyone, my cousin suffers from epilepsy and I would like to know if he can take Dalantin? I came across this medication while I was looking for information on treatment for epilepsy. It says that:

Dilantin is approved for use as an anti-seizure medication (anticonvulsant), especially to prevent tonic-clonic (grand mal) seizures and complex partial seizures (psychomotor seizures). It may be used alone or with phenobarbital or other anticonvulsants.

Cab this medication be taken to treat epilepsy? Is it an effective medication?
