The Dead Zone

Did anyone else see tonight's episode of the Dead Zone on USA? I must say I am appalled and horrified that hollywood still insists on portraying anyone with gender issues as axe-murderers! From Psycho to Silence of the Lambs, our society is lambasted with these false and cruel lies about us... is anyone else as outraged as I am about this? - PJ

ps. It is awfully difficult to maintain my compassion towards the ignorant straight community when I am continuingly faced with these media assassinations of MY character by proxy! How do we fight this? Someone please tell me...

Unhappy it's unfortunate

that the Dead Zone sank to that level - most of their episodes are pretty excellent, IMHO. I had a LOT of trouble believing that the "bad guy's" girlfriend didn't notice the rubber mask or ill fitting pants.

don't know what to do about the more general problem, though. maybe it just falls back on the general public discomfort with anything outside of "traditional" gender roles.

how do you change a culture?

(no yogurt jokes - don't even go there!)
