Interesting, I've made this claim more than once and have opened a dialogue with one of the very well known physicians who in the past has been a proponent of surgery yet also has decried the lack of follow up.

My direct question to him (and in the email, I promised confidentiality regarding his answer) was if the lack of follow up studies is fear of the results, that is fear the results will indicate harm is being done and made the case to him why I believe this.
