Those on dial-up service---feedback? Does the forum and all pages load acceptably fast enough?

i'm on dial-up and it seems as fast as anything ever is for the dsl-deprived! and it's all so shiny and new...wow...

The first time it was very slow, but it seems to have improved - I don't know why. I do find it slower than the old format, but it's got a lot of improvements that I have yet to test, so, all in all, a great format.

But, you know that I come here for the Content and the Companionship!

There are three templates (skins) loaded. "Bodies Preferred" is the default and has the background (this is a change from what I posted previously calling it "spawn". "Bodies Like OUrs No background" is just like the preferred template but it doesn't have the background on it. "Bodies Old Template" is the standard vbulletin grey and a very simple logo.

The difference in loading times should be akin to the preferred taking a couple seconds longer due to the background, with the no background and old template being the quickest but only by a few seconds.

I'm using a 64 kbit line and sometimes the browser get's stuck while loading the graphic elements (buttons etc).

In *Threaded View* everything loads very fast, much faster than in the old version. The *Printable Version* also loads very fast.

Update:

*Threaded Mode* doesn't work with Konqueror and Safari; when there are too many postings, the window showing the threads can't be scrolled (no scroll bar). In Mozilla everything seems to work fine.

The text-editor shows fonts only available on MS-Windows.

The threaded version is clunky...doesn't work at all that well if there are many replies as you discovered.

You can always load new fonts into your machine to get all of them if you want.
