Intersex advocates and their allies throughout the world are planning for the first ever Intersex Awareness Day to be held on October 26, 2004. This annual event honors the first Hermaphrodites With Attitude demonstration held outside of a meeting of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Endorsed by Bodies Like Ours and the Intersex Initiative, events are being planned internationally.

But we need some financial help to make it happen.

Recently the Traditional Values Coalition has put intersexed people in their scope as part of their "Homosexual Agenda" propaganda. Their reaction to the article published by Time Magazine earlier this year was full of inaccuracies and clearly they do not understand the issue. Not only are they wrong about intersex issues being a tool of the LGBT movement, they are also incorrect in their summation that we are trying to create a third gender. Intersex advocates recommend raising a child as either male or female without surgical reinforcement and with the understanding that sometimes initial determinations are incorrect.

Here's your chance to send the TVC a message that they are incorrect about intersex issues and that you support Intersex Awareness Day at the same time. For a donation of $25.00 or more, Bodies Like Ours will send a greeting card in your name along with your personal message to them wishing them "Happy Intersex Awareness Day". The greeting card will be sent via first class mail from our office in Easton, PA. If you can't think of a personal message, we have some suggestions below that you can use.

Sending your Happy Intersex Awareness Day greeting to the TVC can be done in three simple steps:

1. Pick your greeting from those below (or add your own). Please include your name so we can match it to your donation. If you prefer to send the card anonymously, let us know in the box below. Click on submit when you are done.
