Intersex Awareness day #2

Hello everyone,

Long time since I've been here. I am glad to see every relatively well. Some new, some still here. Hi Kailana, Prince...ss, Peter and the multitudes that are still here.

I was wondering how that Intersex awareness day went and did it meet your expectations ?

Do you plan another like it ?

Hello Andre. So this is the forum were I should have been comming to myself.

Its seem's very Intersting so far.

It is interesting. Many types of people here and they all have thier own way of helping another out.

Overall It was a table demonstration under the Knee in the main entrance at the Community College. During lunch time there is lots of traffic as its close to the cafeteria, main offices and generally just lots of foot traffic. It was just nice to see some people who were actually interested and asked questions.

I speak alot when i meet people at school, as they usually ask about me. So I do get to run my mouth alot. Other then that though, the only people who really get to know me, find interest in what I say, is in the Gender Studies classes where I am invited as a guest speaker, I am much more vocal in those about what my life is like, how I see myself, how I get treated by the medical community. And in the end I get asked some pretty interesting questions, and finally I end up meeting new friends, and people in general who learn something new, that they have never heard about.

i guess its kind of a combination of things on display, lots of handouts and fliers. ranging from who we are, what kinds of conditions, how different societys see us, Domestic-violence, support groups and foundations for more information. And lastly, mostly about promoting acceptance and tolerance, for those of us who are well a little different.

I think many people, particularly the younger generations are much more open minded and are exposed more often to things, our parents never knew. Our society today, has lots of stories on tv, magazines, newspapers and radio, that introduce people like us, so many of them find it alot easier to understand what I say, or purhaps, they are just very understanding people who have enough compassion too think how they would like to be treated if they were IS. In the end for myself, and a few others on campus I think it makes acceptance more common. At least it appears too.

and one that should be encouraged to be repeated by all now or in the future

a very very good friend of mine-that even justin(intersex) has met
she is studying gender studies as a part of her overall course
and i have suggested that i go and join their class as a public speaker too
i would have the professor answering the scientific questions but i can factually talk about emotions of IS and how it has been living as an extra x chromosomed"male"

I was thinking of putting a gig on the Temple bar this year, Are you intrested

I will be playing with the Count, in our new band line up, We can
Do it bro/sis, we can filim it for the world also.
I can get Eamon Dorans at a very good price down stairs full bar until 2.45am
