i just went through a glucose assessment for 4 days and learned how to stab myself: do it on the side of the finger, NOT on the pad - the pad has all the nerves. The side of the finger (preferably the ring finger or middle finger) has much less nerves and it will hurt far less, and stop bleeding much quicker. The second suggestion is once you have a dot of blood, squeeze the end of your finger with two fingers and you'll get a nice drop without having to stab yourself again.
I had a big problem with some old test strips: I'd get ER5 even with a drop of blood. And I have NO idea how accurate the test strips are. |
