Talking Hello again!

I haven't been here in a million years (approximately), but thought I'd say Hi since your lovely computer was kind enough to wish me a happy birthday yesterday. Hehe the board is telling me there are 2329 unread posts since my last visit!
For the relative newbies, Hi, I'm Glenn. I've been here off and on since about ... 2002? I first found this after being diagnosed with hypogonadism (low T) though later docs disagreed with that diagnosis. Meh. I am who I am.
I've been lost in trying to finish my dissertation, and the end of the road is vaguely in sight now. I hope to finish this summer.
I've been an advocate for several LGBT organizations on my campus, and I've been trying to make sure that intersex issues are being addressed, though there doesn't seem to be much interest in them.

Anyhow, just wanted to let you know I'm still thinking about y'all.

Welcome back

Hello Glenn,

Happy Birthday!

I understand the lack of interest in the "I" in LGBT. I am a regular panelist on various issues and always promoting the "I' and our issues. Many in the LGBTIQQA community do not understand that our issues are bigger than civil rights, we get human rights too. What you mean that docs are not supposed to operate? Really and that we are not supposed to be lab rats? Yes folks, those issues have been written about for many years.

Check out Tuskegee and the legal changes since Dr. Mengele. Oh wait the docs are doing it for the benefit of the children. You must be normal!!!!

Ah the rant...

Welcome back to BLO - CONGRATS on approaching your dissertation's end!

Cheers,

Galens47

Thanks!

Yes, the surgical intervention issue tends to creep people out since they don't want to believe such a thing occurs in our 'civilized' society.

Oh, and for those interested, I wrote a summary of intersexed conditions circa 2003. It isn't perfect, but a good start. It's at

Hi and welcome back Glenn! When I have a free moment I'll take a look at your writings.

Hope you'll stick around if you're so inclined!

Hi Glenn

Hi Glenn,

It is great to see you posting again. You might also want to check out the new Bodies Like Ours website, at www.bodieslikeours.org So far, it only contains material from the old site, but there is also plenty of room for growth.

Peter
