CANCER and/or hormone disruption
I find all the gender stuff cool. I embrace most everything both genders have to offer just like my genitals that were wacked off for a very necessary reason but I just couldn't help to throw that in.
I 've been wondering if cancer and/or hormone disruption is higher in people with intersex conditions? I'm thinking along the lines of Endometrual Hyperplasia that may lead to uterine cancer or with all the blood from Endometrual Hyperplasia make it harder for other types of cancers to be detected. For example, if someone was born with higher androgens but it was brought under control with medication that although is needed in times of physical illness still might though disrupt the bodies balance of estrogen/progesterone that it was equipped for and may be a factor in causing estrogen dominate cancers and/or hormone trouble because now the estrogen is really unopposed. Sorry, if any of this sounds stupid and maybe some of you more intelligent people can expand on what I've written and tell me that I'm way off but I've been wondering about this and this is hard to track because in general there isn't a lot of people with intersex conditions. I'm doing good after the radiation and chemo. The radiation actually made the clitorectomy look a little better....go figure on that one! lol Last edited by Sunshine1 : 12-07-04 at 06:18 PM. |

GEE, I don't know. I myself have often wondered if I was at a greater cancer
risk myself. You are a very brave soul, and I very proud and impressed that you have such a postive attitude though your cancer. My spanish teacher had breast cancer and she has told me all about her battles. She used her stomach fat to replace the breast but it was a very painfull surgery and she has big scars from it and she can only lift so much now. She now does breast cancer awareness. Yes I did share with her my secret. I hope things go well. I often wonder If I have a bigger risk for bone loss or heart attack.

Thanks
It makes you wonder doesn't it? When peoples hormones are tinkered with things happen. I know one doctor that actually might be truthful with me on the subject but I'll have to get him drunk on shots of yagermister first.
