snow day!
If you are in the northeast or mid-atlantic, you know:
Here's one of my kitties this evening trying to be a mountaineer: You think that's not much (it's a six month old kitten for size perspective), that's where we've been hunkering down. Here's the end of my driveway this evening. Needless to say, we didn't get very far: Stay warm, Betsy

Misdirected Shipments ;)
We've only gotten about one fifth of our typical snowfall this winter. I think you over there in the east got our share (not that I'm complaining). ;)

We got between 18 and 24", depending on where you measured. Finally got dug out yesterday afternoon, but our street is still a mess, even after several plow runs.
Made it in to work today, which is a ghost town. Most people on my project fly in for the week, and since the Philly airport was closed until this morning, we probably won't see anyone here until tomorrow. Oh well. Productivity has been cancelled due to weather! Glenn |

*sigh*
I came by my place this morning and discovered the plower never showed up for my driveway. Massive drifts...I was pissed.
I was hoping to make it into my freelance job today but couldn't until I freed my car (which was on the other side of that drift). Turns out, they had already replaced me for the day once they saw the above pic so the pressure was off for me. Came back a couple of hours later ready to shovel (the streetplow sludge was by now about 3 feet hight in addition to the drifts) and discovered he and his big truck finally showed up! yeah! Here's a website that describes perfectly how I really feel about the snow by this time of the year. This is after moving back up north after living for a spell in California and down south in Atlanta: http://belle.pcpros.net/~grandma/wisconsin.html Betsy

*sigh*...one month and I'll be warming my bones in Florida too. Watch this space for our itinerary (or at least our upcoming events I should be getting final updates on there next week. We have a couple of open days in the middle of the week for workshops or fundraising house parties if you would like to volunteer. Most of what we are planning is in the Bay area, Miami/So Florida and Orlando.
Now that I posted a photo of Smudge, her sister Starr is feeling neglected. I'll try to find a photo of her to post too. She doesn't like the snow like Smudge does. Betsy

Smudge
Dear Betsy:
The kitty's name is Smudge? I like that. Is it because the black spots look like smudges of ink ? Sorry, I'm not a volunteer type of person. If there isn't a check involved then what's the point ? (smile ) I'm just a greedy little SOB. The way I look at, I should of got a cut of the take from The University of Michigan for the gauntlet of interns that I had to deal with. Be sure you check out South Beach! Aimee |
