Remember Me? (Janet & Betsy)

Hi All (particularly Janet & Betsy), I've just found this site and feel very welcome although I am not sure if there's a place for me here since I was not obviously ambiguous at birth. I heard you both (Janet & Betsy), speak at my school last Friday, and although we didn't speak, you may remember me as the tallish blonde girl in the blue/green sweater. I thought your presentations were excellent as well as the way in which both of you carried yourselves with pride, as you should do. I myself transitioned at 15 from M to F and went through all that that entails. I'm now in the health care industry and as far as I know, in the closet. I'm looking to find the best role that a person with my double insight could fulfill without jeopardizing myself in the process. Hoping to not only find some answers but make some connections with others on the Spectrum . Sincerely, Jaime

Welcome!

Hi Jaime,

Yes! I do remember seeing you in our audience. In fact, I also remember that you had a very big grin throughout most of the two hour presentation. LOL...now I know why!

I'm glad you found us afterwards and quite happy you are here. Not everyone here falls under the ambiguity of some intersex conditions, and it certainly is NOT a requirement to be here.

Again, welcome!

Betsy

How wonderful it is that you've selected a career in the health care field. Your unique perspective will help heal many patients. Have you read the new guidelines by the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association (glma.org) for treating trans & intersex patients? A great document every health care provider should become familiar with.

I'm sure we will meet again. In fact I'll be back at Phillips this Friday, and again as we head towards graduation events. Hopefully our paths will cross again, but in the mean time, good luck with your studies!
Janet
