October
11, 2004. San Francisco. Intersex
Initiative is coordinating an event at the annual meeting of the
American Academy of Pediatrics. See

26, 2004, Everywhere. An historical day
will take place across the world. The first ever International
Intersex Awareness Day will take place. Endorsed
by Bodies Like Ours, amd IPDX, the day will be a collaboration among
local activists everywhere to raise awareness to the tragedy of
intersex genital mutilation and more.
Please visit the special website that has been set-up for planning
the event. There are many handouts you can print at the IAD
website and you can find
some stuff here at Bodies as well.
- Emi has made
some PDF handouts
that you can print at home and distribute. Print on two sides
of your paper and then cut into quarters.
- PDF
of a boilerplate press release you can use for your local
event. This is an easily adaptable word document.
- In
NYC, Betsy Driver is speaking at NYU. Sponsored by the
LGBT Student Services, the event takes place at 7pm in Kimmel
Center #803.
- NYC
LGBT Center will host a panel comprised of Mike Borriello,
Dr. Nina Williams, Deb Hartman, Maddie Blaustein and Janet green.

- In
Atlanta, Caitlin Childs will be hosting a workshop on
intersex issues on Wednesday October 27th, 2004 at Charis Books
and More. The workshop will start at 7:30pm.This workshop will
include a basic introduction to intersex issues and activism,
including Caitlin's personal story of being intersexed. There
will be plenty of time for discussion and questions.

28, 2004 Portland, OR In celebration of the first annual
Intersex Awareness Day, Portland-based advocacy group Intersex Initiative
will host the "Intersex Film Night" at the Portland State
University on this coming October 28. The event will be held at
Room 290 of the Smith Memorial Union from 7-9pm, and is open and

10-14, 2004 St. Louis, MO. National Gay and Lesbian Task
Force holds Creating Change, the largest annual conference for the
LGBT community this November 10-14 at the Millenium Hotel in St.
Louis, Missouri. Bodies Like Ours will be there! See

February
23, 2005 New York City. Intersex Symposium co-sponsored
by Bodies Like Ours and the Cardozo Women's Law Journal. See
